" Ask Allah for forgiveness and health, for after being granted certainly, one is given nothing better than health."

Difference between mental health and metal illness:

Mental illness:

Definition:

A health condition that significantly affects a person's thinking, feeling mood or behavior.

Focus:

Diagnosable conditions that cause significant distress or impairment in daily life, such asa work, school or relationships.

Spectrum:

Mental illness have varying degrees of severity and impact on individuals, and they can be managed with appropriate treatment and support.

Examples:

Depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder.

How does exercise improve mental health:

Exercise improves  mental health by positively impacting brain chemistry, boost mood, and reducing stress and anxiety. It achieves this by releasing endorphins which have mood boosting effects, and by regulating stress hormones. Additionally, exercise can improve sleep, enhance self esteem and provide opportunities for social interaction, all of which contribute to better mental well being.

How can the mental health prevented:

Practices can encourage and advertise mental health promotion and prevention for everyone, including physical exercise, good nutrition use of green space, volunteering and giving good parenting and social participation are protective factors against cognitive decline and dementia.

Major causes of depression:

While the exact cause of depression is not fully understood, several factors are known to contribute to its development. Four major categories of causes are:

How to become mentally Strong:


To becoming mentally Strong, focus on controlling what you see, cultivating a positive mind set, and practicing resilience through healthy habits and self care. This includes managing stress effectively, challenging negative thoughts and setting achievable goals.

Brain chemistry: Imbalances in neurotransmitters like serotonin dopamine.

Sleep deprivation: Poor sleep patterns can lead to anxiety and depression.

2. Psychological Causes:

Trauma: Abuse, neglect or exposure to violence .
Stress: High level of stress from work school or relationships.
Unresolved loss: Especially when not processed in a healthy way.

3.Spiritual and religious factors:

Loss of spiritual connection: Feeling distant from lacking purpose.
Guilt: Especially due to perceived sins or moral failing.
Religious misunderstanding: Misinterpreting religious teachings can lead to fear or anxiety.

4. Social and environmental causes:

  • Family conflict or Dysfunction.

  • Tests from Allah: Trials meant to strengthen faith.
  • Neglect of spiritual duties: Abandoning Salah , zikr or Quran.
  • Waswas ( whispers of shaytan):  Constant negative thoughts And self doubt.
  • Jin or Sihr( Black Magic): Rare but possible, addressed through ruqyah.

Verses about mental health in Islam:

Islam addresses mental health through guidance found in the Quran and  Sunnah, emphasizing peace of mind, Patience, hope and reliance on Allah. While the Quran does not use modern psychological terms, many verses provide spiritual support for those facing distress, anxiety or sadness.

1. Relief from Hardship and sadness:

Surah Ash- Sharh:
"For indeed with hardship ease. Indeed, with hardship ease." 
This verse gives hope that no pain is permanent -ease follows every trial.

2. Peace through remembrance:

Surah Ar- Rad:
"Verily, in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest."
A direct link between spiritual connection and emotional calmness.

3. Allah doesn't burden beyond capacity:

Surah Al- Baqarah:
" Allah does not burden a soul beyond that it  an bear'.

4.  Turning to Allah in sadness:

Surah Yusuf:
" I only complain of my sorrow and grief to Allah." 
A lesson in expressing grief to Allah directly, showing that sharing emotional plan is valid.

5. No despairing ox Allah's mercy:

Surah Az-Zumar:
" Say,  O my servants who have transgressed against themselves do not despair ix the mercy of Allah. 
Indeed Allah forgives All sins."
   A healing verse for those battling guilt, shame or depression.

6. Practicing during trials:

Surah Al- Baqarah:
" O you who have believed seek help through Patience and prayer. Indeed, Allah is with the patient.
Encouragement to hold on thought emotional hardship with sabr and Salah.

7. Hope for a new beginning:

Surah Al- Talaq:
" And whoever fears Allah -he will make for him a way out and provide for him from where he does not expect..."
Reminds us that even in mental distress, unexpected relief can come from Allah.

8. Seeking refuge from anxiety:

Prophet Dua:
" O Allah, I seek refuge in you from anxiety and grief, from weakness and laziness."
The Prophet taught us to ask Allah for protection from.mental burdens".

Conclusion:
